Trail Use Guidelines

Traprock Ridge Land Conservancy welcomes and encourages public use of our designated trails. We hope you enjoy your time on our properties, but please be respectful of the following guidelines:

  • Stay on marked trails.
  • Use trails only between sunrise and sunset.
  • Enjoy nature’s sounds – don’t overwhelm them.
  • Pick up litter and leave the trail in better shape than you found it.
  • Leave all flowers, plants, and small animals for others to enjoy.
  • Well-behaved dogs are welcome, but owners still must maintain close control at all times and clean up after them.

Passive recreation is encouraged, but the following are prohibited:

  • Motorized vehicles, biking (except where noted), and horses (except where noted).
  • Camping, building fires, and building tree forts, clubhouses, or other structures.
  • Using alcoholic beverages.
  • Hunting (except by special permit), cutting trees and other plants, and metal detecting (unless written permission has been granted).

Metal Detecting Guidelines

Anything found on our parcels is Traprock Ridge Land Conservancy property. Interested persons must contact us to acknowledge that any findings will be documented with a map of the parcel showing the site(s) where objects were located and a list describing all objects found. We encourage membership in the Yankee Territory Coinshooters for training on dealing with historic artifacts.
