Project Description
One block from Cottage Grove Road in Bloomfield’s most densely populated neighborhood sits Lisa Lane Farm, 10 acres which has been farmed continuously since the 1930’s. The farm now provides callaloo, Scotch bonnet peppers, and other vegetables to the predominantly West Indian neighborhood.
A diverse group of neighbors tend 12 organic community garden plots aided by the well installed in 2016.
Walking trails around the perimeter of the farm fields respect and showcase food production. We expect Lisa Lane Farm to be a focal point for food, nutrition, and health education.
