Project Description
This two Town East-West trail is perhaps the most ambitious project undertaken by the Wintonbury Land Trust. This trail is planned to begin at the new Filley Pond Park in Bloomfield Center and meander all the way to the Blue Trail in Penwood State Park. Once a hiker reaches the Ridge line of the park, the trail will continue north until it connects to the Simsbury Land Trust, Tanager Hill Trail and down the west side of the ridge and over to the Old Drake Hill ‘Flower Bridge’ in Simsbury Center. The length of this trail is around 6.6 miles and at certain locations, will use local roads to link the various trails together.
