This 13-acre site offers spectacular views, a lovely route from the west side of Bloomfield into Penwood Park, and permanently protected grasslands which now help feed the cows at Hawk Hill Farm. The fields were acquired through major funding from the Stout family, the federal Natural Resources Conservation Service, the Bafflin Foundation, and individual donors.
In 2016 the Wintonbury Land Trust received Connecticut Department of Agriculture (DoAg) field restoration funding to greatly improve the productivity of the fields. Work is in progress through 2018.
