Amanda was a board member of the East Granby Land Trust for 14 years until the merger with Traprock Ridge Land Conservancy in 2023. Amanda worked with the land trust to create family-friendly programs for the local community, starting with hikes and growing her vision to include our high school intern program, and many other educational opportunities and programs that continue to evolve. She served as President of East Granby Land Trust in its last two years, leading it through the merger. She sees the new regional land conservancy as an opportunity to share the importance of conservation with a wider audience and plans to work with our regional towns to make strategic acquisitions and share the importance of conservation.
Paula is an avid conservationist serving on nonprofit boards and Bloomfield town committees. She retired from the insurance industry in 2012 and was President of the Actuaries’ Club of Hartford & Springfield. She grew up playing in the woods of Maine and believes in the restorative power of hiking and being outdoors. She and her husband, Kevin Gough, lead hikes and steward Thrall Farm. She joined the Wintonbury Land Trust Board in 2011 and served as Secretary, Treasurer, and Vice-President prior to the merger.
Dave has spent many years hiking throughout the Northeast, the far West and points abroad. In 2016, he sought a way to make a difference for the environment locally and became President of the West Hartford Land Trust. When the opportunity arose to create a land trust with regional impact and thinking, he worked closely with his colleagues at the Wintonbury and East Granby Land Trusts to make that collective vision a reality. He has been TRLC’s Treasurer since, in order to grow the new organization’s financial capacity.
Christopher has provided leadership for conservation outreach initiatives including a science education reform partnership, municipal nature center, and now the Connecticut Outdoor Recreation Alliance. He believes people help protect lands and waters they come to appreciate through first-hand experiences, such as hiking, kayaking, and gardening with his husband, Chris.
A LEED certified architect and executive director for Ironwood Community Partners, is WLT’s past president and continues to work on grants and land acquisitions.
Chip is a birdwatcher, hiker, environmentalist and “appreciator” of the natural world (except for mosquitos). He’s dedicated to land conservancy because it is forever and for everyone.
Catherine retired from the U. S. Postal Service after 35 years as a Facilities & Supply Management Contracting Officer to go play in the woods. Catherine’s passion is eradicating invasive species and replacing them with native plants.
Steve, a self-employed architect, enjoys hiking (with his wife, Deanna, and their dog, Sundae), photography and supporting many preservation and conservation groups. A prior member of the Wintonbury Land Trust, Steve now chairs the Land Acquisition Committee. He finds the ultimate destination to be a property that protects Art, Architecture and Nature.
Jennifer is a licensed civil engineer, retired after working for many years in construction management. As a 25+ year member of the East Granby Land Trust, she has always been passionate about preserving farmland and open space, especially woodlands and wetlands. Jennifer is also chairperson of the East Granby Inland Wetlands Commission. She enjoys being outdoors year-round hiking, biking and kayaking.
David has been involved in open space and farmland preservation for over 30 years while living on Cape Cod, in Ireland and more recently, in East Granby. David was a member of the East Granby Land Trust for 10+/- years and served on their board, helping facilitate the transition to TRLC in 2023.
Jim served for 18 years on the Windsor Land Trust board, working closely with town government to advance open space preservation. His work experience spans musician, construction, manufacturing, and marketing. He brings analytical and strategic thinking to the table and is always open to discussing your ideas.
A lifelong environmentalist, Bob has been involved in environmental causes for decades and active in local government since 1999. After many years on the board of the East Granby Land Trust, he now serves on TRLC’s Governance and Finance Committees. Bob enjoys boundary walks during the winter season and work parties, especially at Griffin Marsh.
Laura appreciates the opportunity to serve as TRLC’s first administrator. Her experience at a commercial real estate appraisal firm specializing in open space and a national nonprofit fund, as well as her love of nature, gardening and walking in the woods, make this job a perfect fit.
